Mark DesRoches is a graduate of Virginia Tech and brings over 20 plus years of practical experience to clients as they address the challenges their businesses face. Mark established DesRoches & Company in 1988 and the firm has continued to grow annually. This growth is a result of Mark’s ability to provide solid, reliable, professional services at a reasonable cost. As a result of Mark’s specialized experience in serving small business clients, DesRoches & Company has become the firm of choice for many businesses throughout Hampton Roads. Mark’s area of specialty is tax, real estate and business consulting.  Mark was named as a 2004 "Super CPA" by Virginia Business Magazine.  Previously, Mark served as President on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Community Association Institute (SEVA-CAI).  Over the past 20 years, Mark has served on numerous other organizations' Board of Directors.

Robin Harvey, CPA – Manager

Robin joined DesRoches & Company in 2005, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the public accounting field.  She graduated from Saint Leo University with a B.A. in Accounting.  Robin is focused on corporate, individual, and multistate taxation.  Her corporate expertise includes the hospitality industry with a concentration on taxation unique to the restaurant industry.  She was named the authorized CPA for the Melting Pot Restaurant francishees in the USA.  She also works closely with dental practices, homebuilders, and small businesses. Robin has demonstrated an exceptional approach to business development and customer service.

Becky A. Gehl, CPA – Supervisor

Becky joined DesRoches & Company shortly after graduation from SUNY Plattsburgh in Upstate New York where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  Becky has been with DesRoches & Company for a total of twelve years.  She specializes in supervising audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations.  Becky has been involved in teaching “the ABC’s of accounting” to CAI members.  In addition, she has experience preparing estate and trust returns and working with small business owners providing knowledgeable accounting and tax preparation services.  Becky has gained a broad range of tax and accounting knowledge through providing professional services to numerous clients over her twelve years with the Company.

Jennifer C. Adams, CPA – Supervisor

Jennifer joined DesRoches & Company in 2000 upon graduation from Old Dominion University where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. For the nine years prior to joining DesRoches & Company, Jennifer worked for a local CPA firm in Virginia Beach as an office manager and paraprofessional where she developed her skills working closely with small businesses. Jennifer currently supervises audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations. She also supervises small business accounting and taxation engagements. Jennifer is a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She is proficient in training and troubleshooting QuickBooks accounting software systems.

Katie Mocnik, CPA – Supervisor

Katie joined DesRoches & Company in September 2004. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Masters of Science in Accountancy from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. Katie supervises audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations. She also supervises small business accounting and taxation engagements.  Katie is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor and is proficient in training and troubleshooting Quickbooks accounting software systems.

Casie Nash - Senior Accountant

Casie joined DesRoches & Company in December of 2006. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. Casie currently conducts audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations. She also provides tax preparation and bookkeeping for small business clients.

Tonya Measel - Senior Accountant

Tonya joined DesRoches & Co. in July of 2007. Tonya graduated from Indiana Wesleyan with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting.  Tonya currently conducts audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations as well as provides tax preparation and bookkeeping for small business clients.

Dan Bowers – Staff Accountant

Dan joined DesRoches & Company in December of 2007. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Finance and Business Information Technology. Dan currently conducts audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations as well as provides tax preparation and bookkeeping for small business clients.

Tyler joined DesRoches & Company in July of 2008 upon graduating from Old Dominion University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. Sarah earned her Masters of Science in Accountancy from Old Dominion University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from James Madison University. Sarah currently conducts audits, reviews and compilations for Common Interest Realty Associations. She also provides tax preparation and bookkeeping for small business clients.
